St. Petersburg, FL – For the first time in three years, CSDA professionals from around the world converged in vibrant Scottsdale, Arizona for the association’s annual Convention & Tech Fair, the first large meeting since 2019. The association’s flagship event, held March 30 – April 1 at The Scott Resort & Spa, was a welcome opportunity for CSDA contractors, manufacturers, distributors and affiliate members to connect, learn and socialize in a beautiful desert setting.

CSDA members have always known the importance of taking part in these face-to-face meetings. “As a contractor taking part in my first CSDA Convention, I was extremely impressed with how smooth everything ran and was put together. The guest speakers, vendors and all other CSDA members were a wealth of knowledge-almost too much to take in at one event. I am looking forward to becoming more involved with the committees, Board and all of CSDA, going forward,” said Josh Sherman, Project Manager for Mavo Concrete Sawing.

David Perkins, Director of Trade Marketing for Heavy Diamond, Hilti North America said, “It was fantastic to finally come together again in person as an association. The location and event were great and the Keynote Speaker, Julia Landauer, was phenomenal. High praise to the association for putting this new location together in such a short amount of time. The high turnout of members showed a lot of support to keep moving the association forward. Great event!”

The Convention agenda included business and technical sessions, as well as presentations covering a wide range of topics. Among these were legal considerations in business, how material recycling can strengthen our industry and avoid supply chain issues, adding GPR services to your business, new OSHA regulations, succession planning and financial management and digital marketing. Two roundtables covered issues facing contractors today and GPR liability and legal considerations.

The CSDA Tech Fair was again part of the convention agenda. Twenty industry-leading manufacturers and affiliates exhibited at the event, allowing exhibitors to show off their new products and technologies. Attendees took the opportunity to talk one-on-one with vendors in an intimate setting that often cannot be achieved at large trade shows. Attendees also had some fun, participating in evening social events allowing members and friends the chance to catch up in person, while enjoying warm desert weather and sunsets.

“I am pleased to announce that the CSDA 48th Annual Convention & Tech Fair was a huge success. Our specialty trade association is faced with some unique challenges in addition to many additional challenges common to all construction trades. We addressed many topics through a very powerful slate of presentations, roundtable discussions, networking opportunities and a Tech Fair focused on our market niche. Whenever key players in the industry gather together to address the latest topics of common interest, the entire industry benefits,” said Mike Orzechowski, CSDA President.

Next year, the CSDA Convention & Tech Fair will officially celebrate CSDA’s 50th Anniversary in Bermuda, at the beautiful Hamiton Princess & Beach Club – A Fairmont Resort. Very competitive rates have been secured, and registration will open in the fall.
