OBJECTIVE

This two-day course will provide an overview of the concrete polishing industry and fundamentals of concrete, diamond tool technology, diamond selection process, practical applications and maintaining polished surfaces. Introduction into various types of concrete grinders, hand polishers, vacuum systems, burnishers and auto scrubbers including their applications and components; diamond selection and abrasive pad selection; how diamonds work with each type of grinder; training regarding set-up, operation and troubleshooting. Wet and dry concrete polishing will be discussed. Final 2 hours of the course will address estimating and bidding.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Overview of the various industry-accepted testing methods for polishing concrete
  • Will cover strategies for writing performance-based specifications, evaluating a slab to be polished, quality control testing, data collection to increase operational efficiencies, contract fulfillment, resolving disputes and monitoring wear and performance

CSDA Members: $950
Non-Members: $1250

Fee covers two days of instruction, from 8 AM – 5 PM, classroom materials, participant workbook and a box lunch. Students are responsible for their own lodging and transportation.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that situations arise that may require a change of plans. If you are unable to attend a course for which you are registered, please contact the CSDA office as soon as possible. Substitution of participants is permissible any time prior to the start of a particular course. If no substitutes can be scheduled, CSDA, in order to cover costs associated with processing cancellations, assesses a cancellation fee of $75.00 per course. Cancellations must be requested at least 72 hours before the start of the course.
